Inger Schiøtt
Published as a facsimile of the first copy from 1965
Forlaget Virkelig 2022
152 × 216 mm, 192 pages
Scan/edit of pages and coverdesign: Dorte Limkilde
De gyldne sandaler by Inger Schiøtt is a facsimile re-print: an exact copy of the first edition from 1965. The pages of the original edition are scanned and made into new pages by Dorte Limkilde. A dirt-cover is added to the facsimile on top of the original cover with the red typeface.
Schiøtt wrote the novel after a dream in which she re-lived a former life, almost from birth to death. In her own magazine ISIS (1990) Schiøtt says, that she wrote the book without any re-writing or editing — it was as if someone else wrote it for her.
The book is published and sold with the companion book Een lang nat by Dorte Limkilde.

Dorte Limkilde and scenographer Benedikte Beate Hansen are in this project working with the ambiguity between the restrictive and the liberating within the rituals of the monastery. Through visits and interviews at various monasteries, Dorte and Benedikte have gathered material to use in a dialogue between their respective art forms.
This project is Benedikte’s bachelor project in scenography at The Danish National School of Performing Arts, 2022.
